Collinder 9 is an open star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia, also known as Cr 9 and NGC 366.
It is a small, faint group of stars roughly 7,800 to 8,800 light-years away. Older sources give figures of around 5,800 to 7,000 light-years.
It stands out for being a very young cluster, estimated at 10 to 25 million years old. Dust along the line of sight reddens its starlight and
gives the cluster a yellowish tint. At magnitude 12 it is too faint for binoculars. It was discovered by John Herschel in 1829.
