M102, identified as NGC 5866, is a beautiful lenticular galaxy in Draco.
It is known for its striking dark dust band that runs tightly through the disk,
giving the object an elegant, almost edge-on appearance. Lenticular galaxies form
a transitional form between elliptical and spiral galaxies, with a smooth disk but
little visible spiral structure.
