NGC 2905 is a bright HII region located within the barred spiral galaxy NGC 2903 in the
constellation Leo. It is one of the most prominent star-forming complexes in the galaxy,
appearing as a luminous knot along one of the spiral arms. The region contains clusters of
young, massive stars whose radiation ionizes the surrounding hydrogen gas.
Deep imaging reveals strong H-alpha emission, intricate dust structures, and several compact
stellar groups embedded in the nebula. Although NGC 2905 is part of NGC 2903, it is listed
separately in the NGC due to its exceptional brightness and distinct appearance.
