NGC 362 is a bright globular cluster located in the constellation Tucana, not far from the
Small Magellanic Cloud. It is one of the more compact and densely populated globular
clusters in the southern sky, with a rich core filled with tightly packed stars. The
cluster contains a mix of older red stars and numerous blue stragglers, giving it a varied
and interesting stellar population.
Because of its brightness and dense structure, NGC 362 is a popular target for both visual
observers and astrophotographers. Its proximity to the Small Magellanic Cloud also makes it
an important object for studying stellar evolution and the dynamics of globular clusters in
the outer regions of the Milky Way.
