NGC 7380, also known as the Wizard Nebula, is a large emission nebula and star-forming region
located in the constellation Cepheus. At its center lies an open cluster whose young, massive
stars illuminate the surrounding hydrogen clouds, creating the characteristic “wizard-like”
silhouette seen in deep narrowband imaging.
The nebula contains bright HII regions, dark dust lanes, and complex filaments shaped by stellar
winds and radiation.
