LBN 80 is an extended and highly complex nebular region in the constellation Cygnus. It contains a broad mixture of diffuse H‑alpha emission,
dark dust structures and faint reflection nebulosity, forming a fine network of filaments and clouds across the field.
This narrowband HOO image, with a total integration time of nearly 11 hours, was captured over three nights (23, 25 and 26 May).
Of the 11 hours of raw data, 10 hours were ultimately used.
Within this larger LBN complex, the well‑known reflection nebula NGC 6914 appears near the edge of the field, visible as a compact, blue‑tinted core.
It is a relatively small feature in the periphery of the nebula. Although NGC 6914 is often presented as the main object,
this image shows how small and localized the reflection nebula is compared to the much larger and more diffuse structure of LBN 80, which dominates most of the frame.
