Trumpler 37 (Cr 439) is a young open cluster located in the constellation Cepheus.
It is embedded in the IC 1396 nebula complex, a large region of ionized gas and
dust shaped by the radiation of massive stars. The cluster contains numerous
young stellar objects, including several bright members that illuminate the
surrounding nebula.
Tr 37 is best known for its association with the Elephant's Trunk Nebula, a dense
pillar of gas and dust undergoing active star formation. Wide-field imaging reveals
the cluster as part of a rich and dynamic environment, making it a popular target
for astrophotographers and observers interested in star-forming regions.
